Goodbye and Thank You!

Dear Readers of Ruby Slipper Guide,

After 7 years of running Ruby Slipper Guide, with weekly newsletters, blogs, and holiday guides, we have decided it is time for us to take a break.   We will leave the website up as a resource, but we will no longer be sending out newsletters or updating it.
To say goodbye, here is a note from each of the creators of Ruby Slipper Guide.

From Lexie:
When we started Ruby Slipper Guide, we did it for ourselves, first, to find interesting things to do on the Eastside with our kids, because most of the websites we saw focused on Seattle.  When we got 50 subscribers to our newsletter, we were in awe- we didn’t even know that many people!  When we realized thousands of people were visiting our website and reading our newsletter, we just couldn’t believe it.  We met so many fun people, got to do so many fun things, and just had an all-around fun time.

So thank you to all of our readers and friends who have been there for us.  We hope our website was helpful to you in your parenting life.  We have truly enjoyed making Ruby Slipper Guide, and as we move on to new projects, we will miss it a great deal.

Good luck, and have fun with your kids!

From Michele:
7 years ago, Ruby Slipper Guide was launched. Lexie and I somehow managed to create a wonderful website that helped thousands of Eastside families find activities to do on a daily basis. We had so many amazing opportunities arise because our website and I will always be so thankful for those experiences.

As time has gone on, my children have grown (and continue to do so, to my dismay). Their crazy schedules keep me busier than ever. I also recently returned to work part time. It makes it difficult for me to give as much time and energy to Ruby Slipper Guide as I would like.

Thank you for your support over the years!

Thank you for your website and all you do and did. I have used the site quite a bit to find different adventures for me and my kids since I started staying home with the almost 3 years ago. I do not know of another website like this and I am thrilled you are leaving it up.

I’m sad that I won’t be receiving your awesome newsletters anymore, but thank you for all that you have done and for the great and highly useful information you’ve provided for eastside moms. I moved to the area six years ago with my kiddos. My oldest is 9 now. I wasn’t familiar with Seattle or the eastside when we moved here, and your newsletter spared us immensely as we familiarized ourselves with all of the great activities the area has to offer. We would have been bored without you, so thank you many times over for your service! Best wishes to you both as you continue raising your families and in all of your pursuits!
