Sometimes it feels like Seattle gets all the big parties, but this weekend, the Eastside is the place to be! In Kirkland, the huge Summerfest celebration will be in full swing this Friday and Saturday at beautiful Marina Park. We’re talking Shakespeare in the Park, food trucks, a boat regatta, and tons of entertainment. Seriously, tons. There will be bouncy houses, climbing walls, face painting, clowns, Art in the Park, performances from Studio East and Storybook Theater, Tim Noah, Radio Disney… hold on, I need to catch my breath. Trust me on this one. Tons. So check it all out and head to Kirkland! Here is the Summerfest website to get all the details.

Medina Days

Some of the best summer fests are the ones celebrating individual communities. This week is Medina Days, for the community bordering Lake Washington. There will be block parties and baseball games, which just sing Summer! Plus, there will be a concert in Medina Park on Tuesday, August 7, a parade on Saturday, and a Kids Carnival after that! Oh, and a pet parade. Did I mention the pet parade? Learn more at the Medina Days website.

Bellevue, Issaquah, Mercer Island, Sammamish

National Night out

Every summer, communities come together to celebrate National Night Out. This is a time to meet your neighbors, get to know the police officers who keep our cities safe, and have a little fun. Here are a few happening on the Eastside:

Sammamish will be hosting their party at the Sammamish Commons Plaza, with music, kids activities, and the Circus Cascadia teaching everyone how to be in the circus! For information on the event, visit the Sammamish city website.

Mercer Island will be hosting block parties across the island in various neighborhoods. For more information, visit Mercer Island’s website.

Bellevue is getting in on the community fun at Crossroads Mall. The party, from noon to 6:30, will be at the Farmers Market in the Crossroads parking lot. There will be entertainment, demonstrations, and prizes for kids. Here is the Bellevue website for more details.

Issaquah is hosting their party at the Issaquah City Hall from 5-7pm. There will be a barbecue, games, and lots of information on how to stay safe. You can even bring a box of documents that need to be shredded! Click here for more information.
